Successful Exports

 Breed – Gloucester

After previous attempts to collect embryos from a Gloucester cow, she was sent to our Residential Centre where we managed to collect 24 excellent quality embryos to help preserve the breed.

Project undertaken by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

Client – Henry and Julie Rusch,
Broad Ecton Farm
Breed – White Park

In early 2017, following an approach by a small cattle breeder in New Zealand for some White Park embryo’s, Broad Ecton Farm sent two of their young pedigree heifers to Bovine Genetics in Warwickshire for Embryo flushing. This resulted in us exporting 8 Embryo’s out to New Zealand in August 2017 which have been successfully implanted and when born, will be the first White Park cattle in the country.

During the process they were also approached by a breeder in Canada who was looking for new bloodlines to be imported to supplement what is a very small herd of White Park cattle in the country.

Clients – Tore Kvaeven and Finn Arne Askje
Breed – Mini-Hereford embryos

Norwegian breeders Tore Kvaeven and Finn Arne Askje, purchased 25 Mini-Hereford embryos from Bovine Genetics and so far, from the first 10 implanted, 8 have produced viable pregnancies, so they are delighted with the initial results. The vet working with Finn Arne Askje, who has much experience working with embryos, was very impressed with the quality of those supplied.
